Other Facts (PCW Junkies Comments):
Vortex debuted as the eighth roller coaster at the start of the 1991 season. Wonder Mountain is not only home to Thunder Run but also is host to Vortex's lift and first drop. Vortex is the only Wonderland coaster that crosses over a midway walkway.

Vortex's trains are suspended from tracks overhead. The riders are presented with many sensations as their trains are allowed to swing freely through the banked twisting course as they are racing over the ground and water.

Vortex is one of only ten suspended roller coasters in the world. Top Gun at Paramount King's Island is its sister which was built after Vortex.
