PCW Junkies Comments:
The heart and soul of any amusement park is its carousel. What a jewel of a ride Wonderland had when it opened for business in 1981 with this gem. This carousel is rich in history... Built in 1928 by the premiere carousel builder of the day, Philadelphia Toboggan Company (PTC), and sold to Happyland Hastings Park Vancouver, British Columbia (1928-1934). The carousel was only in Canada for a short seven years and it was sold and moved to Palace Playland in Old Orchard Beach, Maine (1934-1945)From Maine it found its way to Palisades Amusement Park, New Jersey (1948-1971).  The carrousel was eventually purchased by Taft Broadcasting from Palisades Park in New Jersey and put into storage. So what is connection between Taft and Wonderland? They happen to be the 50% partner when Wonderland was built. Since Kings Island was not in need of a second carousel it was restored and sent backto Canada. Lucky us!  Wonderland's Carousel is perhaps the most under appreciated ride at the park but not by the Reids. We LOVE it.

The carousel consists of 42 jumping horses 24 stationary horses and 2 chariots. All that is missing to make this even a more spectacular carousel is an authentic carrousel organ.
