 Ghoster Coaster Thoughts 09/1998

How many of you fellow enthusiasts have had the chance to ride Scooby’s Ghoster Coaster, at PKI? If you don’t have children, a younger brother or sister, or live close to PKI the answer is probably NO. That is too bad if your answer is no, because I think it the coolest kids coaster I have ever seen or rode. It is a chance to share an experience that you will love with your kids. They will feel like big kids when they get off this ride. My youngest son say to me with pride in his voice, "Hey Dad, I have now ridden a suspended coaster too." I wonder were he picked that word SUSPENDED from?

When we were at PKI the line-up for this was Loooong . So we planned a strategy for our second day- we would hit Ghoster Coaster first thing. As soon as the rope dropped we rushed over and still had a 10-15 minute wait. While in the line-up my oldest son and I just kept on watching how cool it was how each car was raised like an elevator to the top and released. We were both designing in our heads an adult version of this ride.

Is there a big version of this type of ride in the world? What’s wrong with using an elevator or hydraulics for the first lift?
